The Norfolk village of Hempnall, along with its neighbours Tasburgh and Saxlingham Nethergate, is in the south of the county. Despite being able to call on only a tiny population it was able to organise a race meeting in the middle of the 19th century. The meeting took place on Tuesday 26th March 1844, although it was not repeated in subsequent years.
